CRHD Easter 2025 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Greetings to you. It has been quite some time since the last newsletter!

It is time for me to give share some fresh news about the CRHD project in India. I am pleased to inform you that since last few months after the Christmas, the project has been going through a (positively!) challenging time. The pupils are always excited to receive their brand-new school uniforms. It gives them identify, a sense of belonging at KPS, and recognition that they are special. They are most grateful for your donations that have funded the purchase of these uniforms.

With Spring fully underway, the school’s garden and crop land continue to flourish.

Our KPS caretaker, Emmanuel (shown on the right), is committed to maintaining the land and tending to the vegetables; our students are also taught about caring for the plants and the Christian value of good stewardship.

An annual highlight of the school year is the summer Children’s Bible School, which runs for 10 days. 130 children from different religious and social backgrounds attended this year, taking part in the activities of learning worship songs, Bible stories, verses. We continue to pray for this wonderful ministry. Everything in our project happens only because of God’s grace, the dedicated staff and your financial support.

Hearing of the KPS students and their academic achievements is always a highlight, and once again, this year the children have been successful in their exams which was commended by the education officers in their inspection report. As well as the students, the teachers at KPS must also be commended for their hard work in ensuring that all children, regardless of background, perform well in their exams.

The Nuthan Tailoring centre in Raichur has been another blessing for the community. It has seen several women come through the door to be trained. Here, they are given a space for fellowship with other ladies, to share their concerns, and to know that they are not alone in their struggles. Many women come from disadvantaged and poor families. They are often responsible to care for not just their children, but their elder in-laws, and manage the household too. Social factors such as these sometimes suppress their own desire for learning, in order to make their lives better. Mrs Daniel continues to head the Tailoring Centre, providing professional and pastoral support for the ladies.

Recently, we heard that our school’s borewell, which provides the KPS students with clean drinking water, was damaged due to its age and receding water level. It served us for 15 years, but it is time for replacement. A new borewell costs £2000, which covers the drilling of a new well, and the installation of an overhead tank and motor to run the board. Please pray that we may find the funding for this, and also pray for:

Prayer items for CRHD:

  1. The safety of the CRHD staff, children and school.

  2. As the cost of living has increased, CRHD needs £30,000/ per year to pay for building maintenance, school bus insurance and maintenance, the staff salaries, and school lunches.

  3. That CRHD may continue to be a great witness for God’s love and faithfulness in the caste dominated society. Pray that we may gain more friends to pray, promote and to raise the necessary finances.

  4. That the dream of CRHD to see an Education Centre built for God’s glory may one day be realised.

  5. That the school may continue to thrive to be a model school for others to follow.

  6. That the Tailoring Centre will continue to reach out to women who otherwise would not have the opportunity to learn tailoring skills and interact with others.

  7. For this work to continue flourishing.

We praise God for all those who have been supporting the project through their prayers and finances. Your generous contribution is profound and lasting in educating these less-privileged children from different socioeconomic backgrounds. The students feel accepted, loved and treated as equals. We are grateful for your unwavering partnership in our desire to attract many more to the school. We pray that people may recognise what the Lord has been doing and turn to God with gratitude and repentance. We also pray that the Holy Spirit may move in Turukanadoni village and all may know Jesus personally.

On behalf of the school and the tailoring centre, along with the CRHD trustees, We would like to thank you for your exceptional dedication and determination to stand with us to support the project.

Have a blessed Easter Sunday.

Yours in Christ,

Gill and Joseph.
