CRHD Christmas 2025 Newsletter
How quickly the 2025 Christmas festive season draws near! Once again, we are reminded of the true meaning of Christmas—love, generosity, and the joy of giving. As trustees of Cross Roads for Human Development (CRHD), we are deeply grateful for your continued support of prayers, encouragement and finance throughout the year. These have enabled us to make a real difference to the lives of children at the school and women at the tailoring centre we support in Raichur.
Your generous gifts have helped to provide improved resources. Children have received nutritious mid-day meals and quality education that have enabled them to excel in their exams and provide a safe environment in which to learn and grow together as one school community. The school has a good, dedicated team of 9 staff who have been working tirelessly. They are inspired by the hope that your continuing support will help to improve their lives as well. The school has a caretaker who looks after the school and the vegetable garden. There are two dinner ladies who always try to provide delicious meals which the children enjoy.
The tailoring centre continues to empower women from all backgrounds to come together to learn sewing and machine embroidery. It is a place to share their own personal stories which encourages them to realise that they are not alone but that they all face varying social, economic and domestic challenges.
The centre gives them the opportunity to draw strength and confidence from each other. These women are, as it were, ambassadors for the CRHD project. They talk about it with their families and friends and share the prayers and the Bible stories they learn.
The season of Advent gives another opportunity for the school and the tailoring centre to anticipate a special day. The children and teachers look forward to decorating the school and inviting the children’s families for a special Christmas event. They will once again have carol singing, a nativity play, dances and a meal! People will have the opportunity to hear about the birth of Jesus.
We are aware that we have lost some of our faithful donors and we are struggling to encourage more people to become partners in supporting the charity. We are fearful for the future and our work. We potentially lack the necessary funds for this wonderful work that the Lord began almost 23 years ago! Sometimes, it is hard to visualise the future of the project, particularly over the next five years, unless the Lord performs a miracle and brings generous individuals our way. What will happen if there is not sufficient money? Thanks be to God, the one who has blessed us so far and is able to do more than we ask or imagine, because it is his mission. We are very grateful for every gift. Thank you once again.
With your unrelenting support of prayers and finance, we prayerfully hope to increase our work next year—adding new books to the library, providing extra tuition, and ensuring every child feels valued, loved and safe. We invite you to keep the school and the tailoring centre in your prayers and, if possible, to consider a Christmas donation to meet the annual expenses of the project (around £30,000) to help us reach even more children who are trapped in poverty and discrimination.
From all of us here in the UK, and in India, we wish you and your families a peaceful, joyous Christmas and the New Year of 2026 filled with hope. Once again, thank you for being part of our CRHD mission and for bringing smiles to the children at the school and the women at the Tailoring centre in Raichur.
With heartfelt gratitude and blessings.
