CRHD Easter 2024 Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Greetings to you.

I can’t believe how soon the time has passed since Kids Paradise and the Nutan Tailoring Centre held their annual Christmas celebrations. I am delighted to inform you that the children at Kids Paradise have completed their final exams and now await their results. We have been informed that the Tailoring Centre in Raichur is also doing very well: women of different social and economic backgrounds meet, not only for adult classes, but also for  ongoing spiritual support and pastoral care. Thank you for your ongoing prayerful support for Kids Paradise School and the Nutan Tailoring Centre in India, through either your standing orders or one-off donations. We are grateful to all of you for your partnership in this humble ministry to reach out to the less-privileged.

It is time for a small update about CRHD’s work.

In our last Newsletter, we wrote to you all about David Stockwell (pictured, sitting on the left-hand side with Gill) and his sponsored walk from John o’Groats in the Scottish Highlands all the way to Land’s End, Cornwall (this walk will cover over 1000km!). David officially set off on the 19th of March, and has already raised over £1000. He is kindly raising funds for two charities, one of which is Cross Roads for Human Development (the Justgiving page can be found by clicking here). David will also be providing updates of his journey on his Facebook page, which you can follow here.

We wish David all the best on this courageous endeavour, and we look forward to seeing him complete his goal (and enjoy a well-earned rest!).

We have added a new page to our website: a testimonials section, with first-hand insight of life at Kids Paradise School from two of the KPS teachers, Ms. Cloudia Sanjeeeva and Mrs. Padma Lukappa, and two of our students, Vikas and Rakshitha. As donors and supporters of CRHD, it is important for you to hear directly (and more often) from those who benefit from your kind and prayerful investments. We hope that reading their accounts here will remind and encourage you all of how much your support means to the people at Kids Paradise.

As a reminder, you can sign-up to easyfundraising and donate to CRHD at no extra cost to you, by clicking the link here. More information on how this works can be found here.

Please pray for the following:

  1. Praise God for all those who have been supporting the project through their prayers and finances.

  2. For the safety of the CRHD Staff, children, and school.

  3. As the cost of living has increased, CRHD needs £30,000/ per year to pay for building maintenance, school bus insurance and maintenance, the staff salaries, and school lunches.

  4. For finance towards the 10 day Summer Vocational Bible School, which costs £1500 to cover all learning materials and lunches.

  5. That CRHD may continue to be a great witness for God’s love and faithfulness in the caste dominated society. Pray that we may gain more friends to pray, promote and to raise the necessary finances.

  6. That the dream of CRHD to see an Education Centre built for God’s glory may one day be realised.

  7. That the school may continue to thrive to be a model school for others to follow.

  8. That the Tailoring Centre will continue to reach out to women who otherwise would not have the opportunity to learn tailoring skills and interact with others. For this work to continue flourishing.

We know that the life and ministry of Jesus was not without any challenges, difficulties, and suffering. In the midst of fresh conflict and suffering, a question is asked: what next, is there any hope to have peace, liberation and joy? However, Easter gives us another opportunity to celebrate that conquering of sin and death, which gives us the joy to know that only through Jesus Christ do we have hope of eternal life.

Enjoy a spiritually rich Holy Week and Easter.

Yours in Christ,

Gill and Joseph
